Bamboo Forests in China

There are 10 biggest bamboo forests in China, mainly south of China, from Yangze river to Guangxi province. Bamboo forests are big because they have large area and high production value of bamboo, also the most varieties of bamboo species. In China, bamboo doesn't grow up big north of China, specially north of Huai River, in Anhui province. Bamboo also doesn't grow up in Tibet, too high for the land. Bamboo always grows up fast and big in the area which has plenty of sunshine and rain. Sunshine will help bamboo grow fast, rain is the water which help bamboo grow up big.

Anji, Zhejiang: Anji locates in north of Zhejiang province, only 75 km west of Hangzhou. Anji has 65.4k hectares of bamboo forest with stock of 135 million bamboo poles. Anji is famous for manufacturing bamboo flooring, paneling, veneer, carpet. There are over 200 factories in Anji.

Guangde, Anhui: Guangde has 60k hectares of bamboo forest with stock of 140 million of bamboo poles. Guangde factories manufacture bamboo flooring, bamboo plywood for construction, bamboo furniture, bamboo fan and bamboo plastic composite.

Yifeng, Jiangxi: Yifeng locates in west of Jiangxi province, close to Nanchang. Yifeng has 56k hectares of bamboo forest with stock of 126 million bamboo poles. Yifeng factories manufacture bamboo flooring, plywood, fiber board, bamboo OSB, bamboo mat and bamboo charcoal. There are over 25 medium-sized factories.

Lin'an, Zhejiang: Lin'an locates in Hangzhou area, neibour of Anji. Lin'an has 65.8k hectares of bamboo forest. There are 63 kinds of bamboo in Lin'an, including CV.Ventricousinternode, Moso bamboo, Dianthus chinensis. Lin'an manufactures bamboo flooring, bamboo plywood, bamboo shoot.

Chongyi, Jiangxi: Chongyi locates in south of Jiangxi province, close to Guangzhou province, about 200 km. Chongyi has 45.10k hectares of bamboo forest with stock of 98.36 million of bamboo poles. Chongyi has 40 bamboo species. Chongyi factories manufacture bamboo flooring, bamboo plywood for construction and raw bamboo poles to factories in Anji.

Taojiang, Hunan: Taojiang has 48k hectares of bamboo forest with stock of 108 million of bamboo poles. Taojiang has 41 factories of bamboo plywood for construction and 110 factories for bamboo mat. Taojiang factories manufacture bamboo plywood for construction, bamboo mat etc.

Chishui, Guizhou: Chishui has 80k hectares of bamboo forest. Chishui has 24 bamboo species. Chishui factories manufacture 5 million bamboo poles, 20 tons of other bamboo, 5 million kg of bamboo shoot.

Guangning, Guangdong: Guangning has 72k hectares of bamboo forest and 90 bamboo species. Guangning factories manufacture bamboo pulp, bamboo paper, bamboo mat, bamboo chopstick and bamboo carfts.

Shunchang, Fujian: Shunchang has 41.3k hectares of bamboo forest with stock of 100.83 million of bamboo poles. Shunchang has 100 bamboo species. Shunchang is famous for manufacturing bamboo shoot.

Jianou, Fujian: Jianou has 83.06k hectares of bamboo forest with stock of 200 million of bamboo poles. Jianou factories manufacture 26 million of bamboo poles and 26.3 million tons of bamboo shoot yearly.

Huzhou, Zhejiang has most bamboo species in China, 10% of bamboo groups in Huzhou, 35.4 hectares bamboo forest per square kilometer, or 12.7k bamboo poles per sq km. Bamboo Museum locates in Anji, inside of museum, you can find any bamboo products in China and 300 bamboo species. Bamboo museum is also called Bamboo Kingdom.
