Dark Strand or Heat Treated Bamboo Flooring Processing
Dark strand bamboo flooring is the best bamboo outdoor decking. It has better stability then regular strand woven bamboo decking. Dark strand bamboo will not have the problems of bending, splitting, and mushroom.
First, we need make a dark carbonized bamboo, for this step, we put the bamboo strips into a carbonizing pot, after few hours, the strips come out with dark color and over carbonized. The strips are very soft and fragile.

Second, we press the over carbonized bamboo strips to be a board of 2450 x 1840 x 22mm, this pressing is similar as strand woven bamboo, including gluing strips, heating the strips, making the panel, cooling the board etc.

Last, we cut the big size panel into the sizes we want, like 2440 x 140 x 20mm or 1840 x 140 x 20mm, as this is the standard size of bamboo outdoor decking.
The key difference between regular bamboo with dark strand bamboo is not on the glue, but the special treatment on bamboo strips. Regular bamboo is 4 hours carbonizing, and dark strand bamboo is 12 hours carbonizing, so the carbonization is very different and this makes bamboo look very dark, almost black color. With long time carbonizing, it will get bamboo strips very dry and moisture is super low, almost zero, so after pressing with glue, the decking is very stable and no bending, moldy and splitting.

In an era where sustainability and innovation go hand in hand, thermo-treated strand woven bamboo has emerged as a wonderful material in the construction and design industries. This designed product, which is well-known for its strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal, is becoming more and more popular among designers, architects, and ecologically aware consumers. In addition to being fascinating, the technology and manufacturing technique used to create thermo-treated strand-woven bamboo demonstrate a dedication to environmentally beneficial methods.
The meticulous selection of raw bamboo is the first step in the process of creating thermo-treated strand-woven bamboo. Bamboo is a highly renewable resource since it grows quickly, reaching maturity in a matter of years. Moso bamboo, valued for its density and structural properties, is the species most frequently used for strand-woven bamboo. After being gathered, the bamboo is cut into strands and put through a special thermo-treatment procedure that improves its qualities.
The bamboo strands are exposed to high temperatures under regulated conditions as part of the thermo-treatment process. In addition to lowering the bamboo's moisture content, this heat treatment also eliminates any fungi or pests that may be present and changes the chemical makeup of the fibres. The treatment increases the bamboo's resilience to warping, cracking, and other types of damage by dissolving lignin and hemicellulose. A more stable and long-lasting product is the outcome of this thermal modification, which makes it perfect for a variety of uses.
To create a dense, composite material, the bamboo strands are thermo-treated and then woven together using cutting-edge technology. By interlacing the treated strands in a particular pattern, this strand-woven process improves the finished product's overall strength and stability. As a result, the material has remarkable load-bearing capacity, frequently surpassing that of conventional hardwoods. Because of its robustness, thermo-treated strand-woven bamboo can be used for structural, furniture, and flooring applications.
In addition to producing a long-lasting substance, the manufacturing method aims to produce as little waste as possible. The technique of strand weaving makes the most of every harvested stalk of bamboo, which is a sustainable resource. Manufacturers can greatly lessen their environmental impact by using the entire bamboo plant and reusing any remaining elements. This dedication to sustainability is in line with the current market's rising need for environmentally friendly substitutes.
The ability of thermo-treated strand-woven bamboo to withstand environmental conditions is one of its main benefits. The procedure of heat treatment increases the material's resistance to moisture and temperature changes in addition to its durability. This makes it a great option for a range of settings and uses, from moist settings to arid, dry areas. Because of this, bamboo may be utilised both indoors and outdoors, increasing its design adaptability.
Another reason for the popularity of thermo-treated strand-woven bamboo is its visual appeal. Depending on the length of treatment, the bamboo's rich, warm colour from the thermal alteration process can vary from honey tones to darker shades. It is a desirable choice for designers wishing to create sophisticated and welcoming interiors because of its inherent beauty. Furthermore, bamboo's distinctive grain patterns give uniqueness to any use, including furniture, cabinets, and flooring.
Bamboo that has been thermo-treated and strand-woven is comparatively low maintenance. Compared to conventional wood goods, it is less likely to get scratches and dents because of its increased resilience. To maintain its immaculate appearance, regular wiping with a moist cloth is frequently enough. Both businesses and homeowners are drawn to bamboo's low care requirements, which let them appreciate its beauty without having to deal with costly upkeep.
Adherence to stringent quality control standards is another crucial component of the production process. To guarantee that the finished product satisfies or beyond industry standards for strength, stability, and safety, reputable manufacturers carry out extensive testing. This dedication to excellence not only guarantees customer happiness but also strengthens bamboo's standing as a competitive substitute for conventional materials.
The market for thermo-treated strand-woven bamboo is expected to expand as the need for environmentally friendly building materials keeps growing. It is a desirable choice for architects and designers aiming to build inventive and sustainable places because of its exceptional strength, aesthetic appeal, and environmental responsibility. This pattern is part of a larger trend towards environmentally friendly design, where the materials chosen are vital to the final result.
In addition to being used in homes and businesses, thermo-treated strand-woven bamboo is also being used to make a variety of consumer products. This material's adaptability enables imaginative designs that satisfy a broad range of tastes and preferences, from kitchenware to decorative objects. Bamboo goods are expected to continue to gain popularity as people grow more conscious of their influence on the environment.
In the end, thermo-treated strand-woven bamboo's production techniques and technological developments mark a major breakthrough in sustainable design. By utilising bamboo's inherent qualities and fusing them with creative manufacturing methods, producers are producing aesthetically pleasing, environmentally conscious, and useful products. Thermo-treated strand-woven bamboo is a testament to the possibilities of nature-inspired innovation as we move towards a more sustainable future.
